Writing & Editing

For +17 years, I've written newsletters, annual reports, magazines, emails and scores of marketing efforts. Writing is at my heart. I’ve drafted proposals, communication plans, executive statements, speeches, and more.

A few quick facts:

  • I am a professional communicator. I have nearly two decades of experience in nonprofit fundraising, marketing, writing, and editing. For nine years, I was a Content Strategist at the Morgridge Institute for Research and was the Assistant Dean for Communications in the College of Letters & Science at UW-Madison. Check out my portfolio.

  • I know the industry's best practices. Organizations want to hit their engagement, sales/fundraising, and marketing goals — and I can help. I create detailed plans with multi-channel actions to get your content get in front of your target audiences.

  • I studied this. I double majored in English-Creative Writing and Journalism with a Master's degree in Library and Information Studies specializing in digital media at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I also volunteer as a Career Mentor with the UW-Madison undergraduate career course, Taking Initiative. 

  • I love writing and editing resumes. I take great joy in helping clients advance their careers. Hiring managers want to see targeted, concise, and compelling resumes and cover letters. I help my clients get there. 

When I'm not writing or reading, I can be found cruising Madison, Wis., cruising one of my bicycles or caring for my gardens. I care deeply about the natural world, and our environment, and I work to support small-scale farmers, growers, and producers. I volunteer with FairShare CSA Coalition where I served two terms as a Board Member.
